Oh, the thrills.
By the way, of the six, three of them were pretty awful; however, I liked the idea behind the awful poems, so who knows? Maybe I'll try, try again.
Spring Rain
March 8, 2008
The rains returned today,
and I mean that in the best
possible way,
the way prodigals return
to feasting and open arms,
the way good deeds come back
to you sevenfold, or tenfold if you’re lucky,
the way we return to our bed each night,
safe in the weight of our covers.
The rains returned today,
and I mean that in the best
possible way,
bearing with them
the fragrance of forgiveness,
generosity, and love.

oh the thrills.....
you've kind of set me up here. i could be coy and say, "oh they are both so great in their own ways," or "i'll never tell."
But I am anything but coy, so... I am smitten with the fatherhood poems, so I'm biased towards the other one, and the mood of the ending was abruptly different from what I expected, so I especially liked it.
Now I think you have to post it. We can't leave our reader in suspense.
uh, christie- i couldn't agree more. YOU HAVE TO POST IT, ED. WHAT THE HECK.
i can't help but notice that in the last line of her post, christie referred to our "reader" in the singular.
me? i'm coy as all get out. maybe i'll post it tomorrow. maybe i won't. who can say?
now that's thrilling!
e
yeah, hey! i didn't even notice that. you guys really think i'm the only one?
You're not exactly our *only* reader; let's just say the room isn't exactly crowded.
that last stanza took my breath away.
i'll give it back, i promise. ;)
