You Guys Read this Stuff?
So I found out that a few people took me up on several of my book recommendations last year. Suddenly, I am much more self-conscious about what I recommend, and to boot, I haven't read anything particularly worth recommending in what seems like forever. Finally, I read a book in under a week and enjoyed it tremendously. The author took a story from her own family history and filled in the details with a fictional account. If you like a good story, take Victorine for a spin.

Nuthin' Better
I'll bet when Wrigley grows up, what she'll remember best about this house is that we live 4 blocks from Free Cone Day. Thanks to Ben and Jerry for the ice cream and thanks to Stephanie for having your camera.

Tiptoe
Last week, Ali and I managed to fight the inertia that said "oh just stay home," and we packed the kids in the car and headed to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. After an hour car ride, Wrigley was pretty darn grumpy and insisted that the Tulip Festival is NOT FUN.

I am sure the she will absolutely not agree, but there is something that makes me giddy about taking pictures of my kid when she is angry.
It took a little bit, but her mood changed

You can flip through more pictures here. The password (if it asks) is ecandw (as in ed christie and wrigley).

Showing Off
Wrigley has been performing for the camera recently. One thing about having digital camera is that kids are immediately rewarded for putting up with photo taking by getting to immediately see the pictures you just took. Wrig was pretty disappointed recently when pictures were taken with a film camera and there was nothing to see. These couple of days there was plenty to see. Here are the best.
"I'm all shined up."
The stickers on her feet help her to jump. Someone let the NBA know.
These boots always make the outfit!

What's Playing?
I was going to ask, "what's in your CD player," but I realized that for many, I have to ask "what's been on your playlist recently."
Here's our sad list:
1. Baby's Storytime, Arlo Guthrie
2. Maracas, Music Togther (fresh out of the plastic, baby, and in heavy rotation!)
3. Songs and Stories for Little Children, Pete Seger (excellent)
4.Shakin' A Tailfeather, Taj Mahal, Linda Tillery and The Culteral Heritage Choir (starts out strong, then neither of us likes it)
5. Skittish, Mike Doughty (Highly recommended)
Actually, it ain't that bad, is it? At least we have good kids' music. Anyway, it is always disheartening to spin through the disc changer and see all that kids' stuff. And I wouldn't want to take any out, because she always asks for the one I recently put away.
We don't really need more than one out of five, anyway. Somehow that sums up life pretty well for us at this moment!
