November is NANOWRIMO, which stands for National Novel Writing Month. Some organization of sadists created a website for a collection of masochists who try to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. If you pace yourself, that amounts to just over 1,500 words a day. Most people write 200 words a day for the first 25 days, then 9,000 a day for the last five.
Me? I started my NANOWRIMO in November of '04 - that's right: '04. Right around 19 months ago. And I hit the big 5-0 last week. 50,181 words, to be exact, at a blazing clip of 87 words per day. It's not even done, but I've reached a resting place (and at 87 words a day, I need a looooong rest).
Three cheers for me!
PS It's crap.
PPS And no, you can't read it. Thanks for asking. ;)
