Tiptoe

Last week, Ali and I managed to fight the inertia that said "oh just stay home," and we packed the kids in the car and headed to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. After an hour car ride, Wrigley was pretty darn grumpy and insisted that the Tulip Festival is NOT FUN.

I am sure the she will absolutely not agree, but there is something that makes me giddy about taking pictures of my kid when she is angry.

It took a little bit, but her mood changed

Showing Off

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Wrigley has been performing for the camera recently. One thing about having digital camera is that kids are immediately rewarded for putting up with photo taking by getting to immediately see the pictures you just took. Wrig was pretty disappointed recently when pictures were taken with a film camera and there was nothing to see. These couple of days there was plenty to see. Here are the best.

What's Playing?

I was going to ask, "what's in your CD player," but I realized that for many, I have to ask "what's been on your playlist recently."

Here's our sad list:
1. Baby's Storytime, Arlo Guthrie
2. Maracas, Music Togther (fresh out of the plastic, baby, and in heavy rotation!)
3. Songs and Stories for Little Children, Pete Seger (excellent)
4.Shakin' A Tailfeather, Taj Mahal, Linda Tillery and The Culteral Heritage Choir (starts out strong, then neither of us likes it)
5. Skittish, Mike Doughty (Highly recommended)

Actually, it ain't that bad, is it? At least we have good kids' music. Anyway, it is always disheartening to spin through the disc changer and see all that kids' stuff. And I wouldn't want to take any out, because she always asks for the one I recently put away.

We don't really need more than one out of five, anyway. Somehow that sums up life pretty well for us at this moment!

Psst...pass it on

I don't like to re-blog stuff I read about on other people's sites. It seems tacky. This site is very cool, though, and deserves a wide audience (like our readership adds volumes of viewers!) PostSecret

Thanks Lesley

Happy Easter

Being sick did little to put a damper on Wrigley's Easter, except when Mom insisted that the chocolate bunny wait until after she eat her first real food in 30 hours. After some vomiting Friday night, a feverish Wrig insisted all day Saturday that we dye eggs.

She woke up early on Sunday announcing, "It's Easter!" Then, promptly went back to sleep until after the Easter Bunny came.

After a sucessful Easter egg hunt, Wrigley was back for a nap at 10:30. We hope she feels better soon.

A Lesson in Sharing

While we were walking to the park this weekend, Wrig asked, "How much time do we have?"

I answered, "Aaaaaall the time in the worrrrrld."

Wrig thought a moment, then asked, "What about the other people?"
